“…The most “jazzy” bands, Ari-Pekka Anttila Quartet and Tuomo Autio Zekosto, made the point of two quite contrary approaches hitting the spot. Anttila Quartet’s introvert touch was delicate and restrained jazz-embroidery, whereas Autio Zekosto played extrovertly, and swept the audience in like a tornado. Intriguingly vibrating rhythms carried the darkish melodies of the Quartet. Zekosto’s solos did not pull punches. Clever and apropos comments to streamlined hot jazz. The performers radiated joy and primal power. The playing compared to the speed of thought at the most lucid moments…”
